About the MEEA Foundation
Remembering Maame
The MEEA Foundation was founded by the late Maame Ekua Esuon Acquah, a young woman whose intelligence, humility, and kindness touched everyone she met. From Achimota’s Senior Head Girl to a caregiver at a children’s nursery, she gave herself fully to the people around her.
Driven by her passion for service, she started the Foundation to bring compassion, hope, and love to children living with AIDS, cancer, and sickle cell disease. Today, the Foundation carries her legacy forward.

What We Do
At the MEEA Foundation, everything we do is inspired by the life and legacy of Maame Ekua Esuon Acquah, a young woman whose journey with sickle cell disease was defined not by pain, but by purpose, compassion, and service.
Her desire to help others continues to guide our mission: to bring hope, health, education, and love to children and families across Ghana and beyond. We work to ensure that her selfless spirit lives on through meaningful programs that transform lives, restore dignity, and create opportunities for a brighter future.
- Outreach & Care. We reach out to children in Ghana and beyond with love, care, and compassion. Through regular visits, gift donations, and supplies, we bring moments of joy to those who need it most.
- Educational Opportunities. We provide educational resources and support to help children access learning opportunities. Education is the key to breaking cycles of poverty and creating lasting change.
- Healthcare Support. Following Maame Ekua’s legacy of supporting healthcare units, we provide healthcare assistance and supplies to children and families, ensuring they have access to essential medical care.

Our mission
The MEEA Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease, HIV, and cancer. Our mission is to provide hope, care, and empowerment to those facing these life-threatening conditions through health education, early diagnosis, treatment support, and community outreach. We believe that every person deserves access to quality healthcare, emotional support, and the opportunity to live a fulfilling life regardless of their medical condition or background.
Currently, our primary focus is on donating essential items and medical supplies to patients and hospitals that support children and families battling chronic illnesses. Through these donations, we aim to ease their burdens and remind them that they are seen, valued, and loved. In the future, the Foundation plans to expand its mission to include educational programs, empowerment initiatives, and community development projects, ensuring that our impact reaches even more lives across Ghana and beyond.
